Is Your Dream Significant?

Today’s Minute with Maxwell was so inspiring and challenging that I just HAVE to share it with you. Today’s message is exactly what “Living Your Dream” is all about!

It’s not just about what benefits I receive from it.

It’s about how what I am learning, and how my personal growth will help others find their dreams as well.

When I help myself, then I can help you. You can then help yourself so you can help others. And the “pass it on” that we begin will generate hope and excitement for the possibilities in ourselves and others.  And that becomes contagious. It begins to change us – and those around us – One person at a time.

Together we can truly Live Our Dreams in an incredible way.  One that makes a difference in our lives – and also in the lives of others.

Let me help coach you to success.

4 Steps To Creating A Better Future

You want to begin living your dream, but you’re just not sure how to begin.

Here are four simple steps to begin creating a better future.

Step 1: Take inventory.

Creating a vision for yourself and your life first requires you to ask yourself “what it is that gives my life meaning, purpose, and joy?”

Look to your talents. Look to your abilities. What makes you smile the instant you think of doing it? It is not difficult to determine what your special ability, gift or interest is. Simply ask yourself: “What do I look forward to more than anything else in the world?”

whats your dreamStep 2: Tap into your imagination.

Now that you have decided to take action by creating a list of your talents, interests, and joy activities, it is time to form a vision around them.

You do this by doing what every child on earth has the power to do at will: Simply use your imagination to create your reality! Start dreaming of all of the ways in which you can spend your time doing what you love. Do not worry about making sense at this stage, just dream as if you were a child again.

Step 3: Set your goals.

Once you have decided what you want to do to create a better life for yourself by developing a vision, the next step is to set goals that will serve as stepping stones toward fulfillment of your vision.
Goals-Succeed-Nightingale

You can start setting these goals by asking yourself questions like: What do I want to accomplish in my life? What kind of legacy do I want to leave behind? What would I do if I had all of the money in the world? Make sure your short term goals are realistic and the rest – big! Be clear, meaningful, well defined, and make sure your goals EXCITE you!

Step 4: Enjoy the journey and pay attention.

As you begin each new day, always keep in mind everything that you have written down and envisioned for your better future. You may not have the means to immediately jump into your goals and plans. But, you can still start working towards a new reality by thinking of the outcomes and moving one step at a time toward your dream.

Of course you may still have to go to work in the job that you would rather not have, deal with some problems, and do the things you must do that you would rather not be doing, etc. However, your job now is to do them with vigor, with excitement, “knowing” that your future will change according to your vision as soon as you begin taking action.

I know you can do this.

Living Your Dream … One Step At A Time

No matter how ambitious your dream, you CAN achieve it. You do it by taking one step at a time.

Here are a 5 simple steps to help you:

1. Visualize Your Dream: The first step is to create a mental picture of your goal. Get very clear on what you want. Are you gaining a new skill? Hitting a new revenue goal? Landing a new important client? See and feel it.

2. Define Your Dream: Be very precise and write your dream down. Outline how much and by when. Add in specific information and resources (money, marketing materials, software, etc.) you will need to acquire to achieve your dream.

3. Post It: Put a copy of your written dream – or better yet, an actual picture of your dream – in a place you can easily see it: next to your desk, on your mirror, in your wallet… Read it or look at it several times throughout each day.

4. Find or Ask For Support: Who can help you achieve your dream? Who are your cheerleaders? List the people and companies you will need to contact for assistance.

Act Dream Plan Believe5. Make a Plan: When a dream seems too big, we tend to procrastinate because it is too overwhelming. Breaking it down and focusing on one piece at a time makes large dreams more attainable. Develop a series of action steps with dates attached. As you finish each task, check it off and acknowledge yourself.

That’s it — five simple steps to achieve anything.

As you move along, enjoy the journey.

You are learning, growing, and accomplishing. Take time to appreciate your progress.

Living your dream does not happen by accident. It is a series of intentional small steps, proper planning, and a stubborn commitment to make it happen.

Here’s your challenge for today!  Take Action to start Living Your Dream

ACTION STEP: You can begin right now! What do you really want to achieve? Write down your dream. You CAN do it!

One Thing I Do Every Day

We all have our daily routines, wake up, coffee, breakfast, etc. And I’m no different than everyone else when it comes to that. But there is one thing that I do each and every day, that is transforming my life.

No matter what else I have on my schedule, I try to help at least one person in a special way.

Sometimes, it’s as simple as reaching something off a shelf for someone in the grocery store, or sending a note of encouragement to friend or family member.

But, my favorite way to help is to is teach someone a new skill, or share a coaching session that takes us both to a new level.

It’s all about encouraging someone, each day, in some way, to make their life a little easier. It’s all about taking opportunities to brighten someone’s world, with a smile, or a small assist.

We all have challenges and obstacles. That’s a given. Helping others and giving them hope – especially where there isn’t any – is one of the biggest joys of my life.  It’s about making a difference.

Helping others is my dream. That’s what gets me up in the morning and it’s what keeps me going every day.

Let me help you live your dream.

I am.

4 Steps To Live Your Dream

What is Your Dream?

I know some folks think that a “dream” has to be something huge – like being a millionaire or living in an ocean-view mansion, or driving a sports car.

But I believe that a dream just has to be something that you know will change your life if you achieve it.

My dream is to help others achieve their dreams.

So, what’s your dream?

Do you want to finally start that business you’ve always wanted? Do you want to add some direction and joy into your life? Do you want to discover your passion and finally start living your dream?

Whatever your dream is …  You Can Achieve It!

How-to-make-your-dream-becomes-trueWant to know how ???

Here are the 4 steps that I am taking and how I work each and every day to achieve my dream.

First …  You have to Have a Dream

I know, you’re thinking … of course.  But what this step means is that you have to really focus and pinpoint EXACTLY what it is that you want. You need to be able to see it, taste it, smell it. Take some time and visualize what your life would actually look like if you had that dream. How would you feel? What would you be doing differently? Get that picture in your mind and in your heart so clearly that you can step into it just by closing your eyes.

Step 2 – Set Your Goals

Now that you have your vision, you need to set specific milestones to achieve within a specific time frame. For example, if your dream is to be a stay-at-home parent, you need to have a specific date in mind when that will begin. You will need to have a specific monthly income in mind that will allow you to do this. Your goals need to SMART – Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant and Time-Bound.

smart-goals smallStep 3 – Create A Plan

These are the actual steps that you will take to meet your goals. They also need to be very specific and include timelines and action items. This step is taking the proverbial elephant of your dream and your goals, and breaking them down into bite sized pieces. To follow the same example of becoming a stay-at-home parent, this step might include, brainstorm ideas for working from home to replace your current income, developing the steps necessary to begin that process, coming up with a budget, connecting with others who have done this successfully.

Step 4 – Take Massive Action

Commit to do whatever it takes each and every day to make your dream a reality. You work your plan to meet your goals. Always keep your dream and your vision in mind, you remind yourself why you are doing this. And work with others who will help motivate and encourage you as you pursue your dream and take steps each day to get you closer to your vision.

My dream is to help others live their dream.

I do this through coaching others on these 4 steps.

It’s my passion. And it gets me excited and motivated to get out of bed every day and do what it takes to help others.

And when I help others – it helps me.

I’d love to help you Live Your Dream!

Changing Me To Live My Dream

I read this incredible quote that puts everything together brilliantly …

Yesterday I was clever, so I wanted to change the world.

Today I am wise, so I am changing myself.

~ Jaial ad-Din Muhammad Rumi – 1207-1273, Persian Poet

Since my goal is to live my dream and also make a difference to others, then this means that my focus has to be first on changing me and becoming the change that I want to be.

Pretty profound.

And pretty daunting …

Where do I start with all the changes that have to be made within me?

I’ve done an awful lot of research on this and I’ve done attended a lot of sessions live and online that go into exactly that.

Interested in what I’ve found?

First, you have to go deep inside and really figure out what it is that you want. What are your goals, your dreams, your hopes and desires for your future? Write them down and get really clear on exactly what they are.

Second, you need to focus on one main goal.  Visualize it. Really see it. Feel it.

DecideToNotStayWhereUAreThird, you have to know your “Why” — what it is that is driving you toward your goal. Be very clear and definite about it. The stronger your Why – the more powerful your desire to attain your goal will be.

The fourth step is to begin working toward your goal.

As you work toward your goal, you will find the things that need to be changed and you will have opportunities to make the choices that will lead you to those changes.

If that all sounds very convoluted, it really isn’t.

It’s all based on the premise that what you focus on is what becomes your reality. When I’m focusing on my goals with total clarity and positive energy, and am very clear on why I want to achieve those goals, then I’m open to seeing opportunities I might not have noticed before. And I’m willing to make the choices necessary to achieve my goals.

Making a difference in myself will help me make a difference for others.

make-a-differenceFollowing my dreams and achieving my goals will allow me to help others achieve their goals.

Not because I’m any better than anyone else.  I’m not!

Only because I’ve found a way to reach my goals and as I make the journey, I can help others make the journey as well.

That is what I’d like to do for and with you.

Sharing my thoughts and my experiences with you on this blog is how I can begin to do this.

Working with you one on one in my coaching program is how it continues.

I want to share what I have learned with you.  It will help you grow and help me live my dream of helping others. That way we’ll each be able to reach and live the Life Of Our Dreams.

Looking forward to reaching our goals together,

Lori
